Nerds and Wellness
Nerds and Wellness is a health and wellness blog for nerds aimed at bridging the gap between fandom and fitness. Our content is designed to present evidence-based science concerning wellness in a accessible and fun way for casual readers. We exist in the intersection of the words "Nerds" and "Wellness" and cover it all from fitness, nutrition, and psychology to cosplay, gaming, and fandoms. Check us out at our site or through our various social media platforms.
Ryan Brennan M.s., CSCS, CPT
Ryan has 6 years of professional coaching experience, working with athletes, soccer moms and everyone in between. I love Ryan's work because of the emphasis he places on personal accountability with each of his client's fitness journey. Ryan has a passion for sports and exercise psychology and he utilizes this knowledge base to create both effective, personalized and meaningful programs for his clients. Take a look at his website and learn more!
Alison Carr PT, DPT
Alison Carr was a classmate of mine in the physical therapy program at the University of Miami. She is one of the most positive and centered people I know. For the past 4 years, she has been teaching vinyasa yoga and often uses her training when she treats her physical therapy patients. She also teaches ballet, Zumba, and meditation classes. You can take one of her classes at House of Movement in Brickell, or seek out her physical therapy services at Kendall Hand and Physical Therapy.
EducatedPT
EducatedPT is an educational resource that publishes both articles and videos relevant to physical therapy and its practice. It is run by a group of three physical therapists and their overall goal is to simplify rehab info for the masses. I love using EducatedPT for any and all information related to clinical practice. With articles and videos concerning everything from special tests and joint mobilizations to interviews with PTs involved with professional sports teams, EducatedPT has something for both patient and practitioner.
